Small plane crashes near Carter Lake

The Denver Post identifies the downed aircraft as a Cessna 210 Centurion registered to a Lyons, Colorado resident. No names have been released. Larimer County Sheriff Press Release: 6.01 p.m. At approximately 2:45 PM on December 27, 2010, Larimer County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a report of a downed aircraft west of Carter Lake in Loveland which ignited a small fire.  Emergency personnel responded to the area and found a single engine aircraft.  One fatality has been ... Thompson School District is celebrating its 50th year as a reorganized school district with a free celebration scheduled for Jan. 14 from 6-8 p.m. in Roberta Price Auditorium at Thompson Valley High School. The children at the Berthoud Early Learning Center had a surprise visitor this week. Santa came to the school twice on Wednesday, handing out gifts to the morning and afternoon classes. The children were definitely excited and happy to see Santa and to receive gifts. A gift for each child is made possible by the generosity of the employees of the town of Berthoud. State Health Department Investigating Student Death

DENVER –The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is working with officials at Metropolitan State College of Denver to investigate a student death. At this time there is no definitive diagnosis, but meningococcal disease is considered one possibility.
