Richard Vivez’s body was discovered by an overnight guest at his residence at 506 Welch Avenue, Berthoud, Colorado. When Berthoud Officer Vasquez responded to the complaint of a barking dog, the guest contacted the officer to inform him about the deceased. The initial investigation indicates that the the probable cause of death was from self inflicted injuries. the police press release does not indicate the type of injuries.
There has been a tremendous outpouring of comments to this site about the death of Mr. Vivez. He was new to the community and little is known about him here. To those of you who do know him, I invite you to write an obituary or commemorative article and send it to editor@berthoudrecorder.com. I will collect and publish your thoughts. Please include a photo if you have one.

He was from El Paso, TX. Graduated from Parkland High School. His name is Richard Capacetti Vives. To my knowledge, his family includes Mother-Gladys Capacetti, Sister-Shirley Vives and Brother-Harold Vives. He had his own family – girlfriend and kids. I consider Richard a friend. We both went to Parkland and church (Hispana Bautista) back in El Paso. He was a good man, someone this world will miss. I pray the Lord brings him home. God Bless you, Richard.
