The Ranch was bustling on Saturday, the first full day of the 2010 edition of the Larimer County Fair. Tractors, splashing dogs, running pigs and plenty of venders lined the promenade as the carnival rides created a colorful back drop to the days activities.
The livestock has moved into the Ranchway Feed Pavilions, the alpacas came on Saturday afternoon, the last animals to arrive. The judging for the cattle, llamas and alpacas will take place Sunday in he indoor arena.
Meanwhile, the other pavilion was bustling with activity, as sheep, swine and rabbits were being groomed and shown. Sheep are divided into seven categories and Berthoud 4-H kids swept five of the seven categories to bring home 10 Champion/Reserve Champion ribbons and Kristina Cavey had the Overall Grand Champion while Kaylee Dougherty showed the Reserve Champion Sheep.
Rabbit judging was preceding all afternoon and results should be available Sunday.
The McKee 4-H building is full of neatly arranged displays showing of the work of our 4-H members proudly displaying their ribbons. Berthoud 4-H clubs are well represented in the exhibits. The McKee Building also has its own concession stand run by the 4-H clubs who benefit from your purchases there.
