The Berthoud High Class of 2008 honored retiring Principal Leonard Sherman by giving him stones on which they had painted a personal message. The tradition of “palming” something to Sherman as the graduation seniors shook his hand on the stage had gone on for many years and on this final year the class members created hand painted stones of remembrance.

Now a somewhat larger stone will honor the long serving former principal. The “Leonard Sherman Stone” will be dedicated in a ceremony on the front sidewalk of Berthoud High School on September 29, at 3:30 p.m. The stone has been financed by community fund raising and the school invites all of those who would like to show their respect for Sherman to attend the ceremony.
