Local soccer team takes the “Rushmore Cup”

The Club United Black soccer team from Thompson Soccer Association finished their season by winning the Rushmore Cup. The under 15-years of age team has players from Berthoud, Loveland, Windsor and Fort Collins, The team finished the Spring 2010 Season with a record of 5-3-1 earning fourth place in a field of 10 teams in its Colorado division. Beginning June 7 the new FLEX bus service will link Berthoud with Fort Collins, Loveland and the Longmont Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) bus connections to downtown Denver and Boulder. During weekday peak commuting hours in the morning and evening, an express route will serve primary stops between Fort Collins and Longmont, including a stop in Berthoud. Gertrude Ellen Beckner, 89 of Bremerton, Washington, Jan. 17, 1921 to March 14, 2010 Gertie passed away March 14th at Ashley Gardens due to complications of Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Berthoud, Colorado to Herbert and Nellie Peak. She moved to Bremerton as a young girl and graduated from Bremerton High School in 1940.
